(PRWEB) June 23, 2005 -- Mehera Shaw fashions have always been focused on pretty, feminine designs in unabashedly happy, sophisticated, floral prints. Their pretty and happy style is hitting the mark these days with retail profits up over 30% to date for 2005 over the same period in 2004. The upstart fashion house was begun in 1999 by the husband and wife entrepreneurs Mark and Shari Keller. “When we began, black was the industry norm and hence the current street fashion. We went against the grain because we believe in making unabashedly pretty clothes that women can feel good in and comfortable in. We love color and we think women look great in color,” comments Shari Keller, designer. “It took several years of slowly building a loyal customer base and time for women to believe they could put on colorful clothes, but now we have a following and it is growing larger daily.”

Not surprisingly, more and more women in the Triangle have found Mehera Shaw an ideal source for wardrobe collections, especially since the designs are classic, not dated, and planned to work well with new additions year after year. “We have found that our increased success is due to a combination of factors: having fabulous clothes that are ideal for this climate, a marketing campaign to let people know we’re here, and word of mouth. The Triangle area is quite spread out and so getting the word out about us has been a slow process which is now picking up. We feel very positive about our significant rise in sales from last year to this year. We take it as a sign that women also really like our style.

At Mehera Shaw,” says Shari, designer for Mehera Shaw, “style is always focused on real femininity—not some fictitious female image cooked up by a promotions team. We are a small independent fashion house and who creates the designs we believe in rather than having to make outrageous styles that work only on the very young, the very wealthy or a runway show,” says, Shari. “Our customers are real women who lead real lives, and who appreciate beauty in dress. Beauty that is practical, comfortable, and wearable on the one hand, and pretty and happy on the other. These are truly feminine attributes.”

Shari has developed an extensive line of upscale, practical, colorful designs that are fluidly transitional from work, to family, to social life. Shari’s summer collection is full of vibrant, floral prints, many of which incorporate cotton voile. “Voile has a beautiful drape,” Shari remarks. “It is soft and comfortable, and there is no better fabric when it comes to facing a southern summer. Ask Scarlett O’Hara.” Mehera Shaw is located at the Carr Mill Mall, in Carrboro, N.C.
