Brillian Corporation has contracted PFSweb, Inc., a global provider of BPO solutions to provide supply-chain support for its new generation of high-definition, rear-projection televisions -- Brillian's Gen II liquid-crystal-on silicon (LCOS) technology.
PLANO, TX (PRWEB) August 11, 2004 –– Brillian Corporation (Nasdaq: BRLC) of
Tempe, Ariz., a pioneering developer of HDTVs, has selected PFSweb, Inc.
(Nasdaq: PFSW), a global provider of integrated business process outsourcing
(BPO) solutions, to provide supply-chain support for its new generation of
high-definition, rear-projection televisions.
Leveraging its Gen II liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCoS™) technology, Brillian produces large-screen HDTVs for leading consumer electronics OEM customers. Brillian also develops a family of microdisplay components and subsystems that OEMs integrate into proprietary HDTV products, multimedia projectors and near-to-eye devices such as monocular and binocular headsets.
Under terms of the agreement, PFSweb, of Plano, Texas will provide warehousing, fulfillment and transportation management services from its Memphis, Tenn. distribution facility to Brillian's North American retailers. The company's new 65-inch HDTVs are planned to begin shipping to a major international retailer in the third quarter of 2004.
PFSweb will deploy its EntenteMessageSM application, a file delivery solution using batch processes to support clients using warehousing and distribution facilities, to process Brillian's EDI transactions. Management reporting to Brillian will be accomplished through PFSweb's enhanced browser-based reporting package.
"In evaluating the final cut of four competitors, PFSweb was #1 or #2 in most everything we reviewed, including number and quality of services, turnkey culture and scope of collaboration, as well as financial solvency and client references," said John Ware, Brillian's director of supply chain management. "Moreover, there seemed to be a personal touch with PFSweb that we didn't find with others."
"We're pleased to see that PFSweb continues to win 'the hearts and minds' of our prospects and customers by putting in place the right combination of people, processes, systems, controls and procedures," said Mark Layton, senior partner and chief executive officer of PFSweb. "We look forward to helping Brillian achieve 'best-in-class' efficiencies in their supply chain operations."
